Ghostwalker thought blocking the trough would mean the sweet feed was all hers.

Gypsy and Opulence disagreed.

Sunday, September 7, 2014

One of this years cria, Gypsy, has discovered the sweet taste of mash. Reaching through to get some more. She is a little wet as the herd decided to spend last night outside in the soft rain.

Marion (one of this years WWOOFER's) and me finishing the skirting of this years shearing. Always feels like a great weight is lifted when this task is complete. I think a Tequila toast will be in order tonight.

Figaro hams it up for the cameras!

Figaro seems to be highly interested in the camera today.

Patience rewarded!

I had purchased these Bird Of Paradise flower seeds on a trip to Hawaii in 2005, I think it was.....
They were planted upon our return home that winter. It took the seeds 6 months to germinate, and today we have been graced with the first ever flower! Imagine this in my sunroom.

Finishing touches

We put the finishing touches on the new barn, adding a water tank connected to an indoor water fountain. It was a challenging job as the ground where the stand was to be built was very uneven. The guys were more than up to the job, it's level, secure and performing well.

Get ready for winter!

Here are a couple of snuggly warm, buttery soft alpaca throws that are newly finished.

Hummingbirds?

If hummingbirds are starting to look like this I had better give up the wine!!!!

Weaving under way again

I created this colourful warp for a few tea towels. Doing dishes will be much more exciting!

Another one

Often when one cria is born more follow quickly. This wee gal was born 3 weeks early. She's out of the woods but has some growing to do. She is a daughter of Oreo Ben, a multiple Champion black.

First cria of the season

This beautiful girl is the first of 2014. A Blizzard (Snowmass) x Nikki offspring she is already looking like a winner. Sunbathing is a favorite pastime!

Could summer be on it's way????

The girls at Rocaro Alpacas are taking the warm weather seriously. They have been playing in their wading pond all day! Thanks to our Helper Cecile for these great shots.
